Our Story

Karmic Kashews was founded by Doug and Kim Beeler, inspired by a flavor memory from their time living in Duri, Sumatra, Indonesia. While there, they were introduced to a local snack known as Kacang Cabe—pronounced ka-chang cha-bay—a traditional preparation of chili-spiced cashews. The cashews would be tossed in a hot wok with freshly mulled peppers, and then slow-roasted, creating a bold aroma that filled the air.

When Doug and Kim returned to Colorado, they began recreating these spicy cashew nuts for family and friends. The recipe quickly became a favorite at gatherings and holidays. Their youngest son eventually convinced them that these cashews were too good to keep to themselves.

Today, Karmic Kashews prepares small batches in their home kitchen in Erie, Colorado, combining Indonesian inspiration with an American twist. Each batch is carefully made and shipped across the United States so more people can enjoy these addictive cashew snacks with a little heat.
